Mouth-Off

Mouth-Off is a podcast series brought to you by Forget-Me-Not-Productions. It is a platform for marginalised groups to get their voices into the mainstream. Podcast episodes might celebrate successes while tackling taboos - such as sexuality, mental health, disability, religion, gender inequality, race, class divides, substance misuse - plus more. Forget-Me-Not-Productions designs and delivers courses and training in accessible music, inclusive arts and assistive technology interventions through its MUSIC-CAN framework. Some of the Mouth-Off series might feature podcasts created by our clients as part of their studies. To coincide with the release of my new book KYLIE MINOGUE ALBUM-BY-ALBUM STICK OR TWIST? Mouth-Off is concluding the epic, three-part special feature that we started this month about gay icon, fashion icon and all round legend, KYLIE MINOGUE. As you may know, if you listened to the final Mouth-Off episode of season one - where I interviewed music enthusiast and my fellow RUBYSHOES band mate (and fellow GAY), JAY BRADLEY-HOFFMAN; I have recently finished my Kylie book, which is being published by WHITE OWL at the end of June (2024). I am also currently in the process of planning the follow up book, KYLIE MINOGUE: A SHOWGIRL ON TOUR. To coincide with these projects and to celebrate PRIDE MONTH, Jay and I finished our chat. Last year, Jay suggested we do a review of the concert openers from all of Kylie’s tours, so we did, and we recorded our chat. This is part two, we hope you enjoy. #PADAMPADAM.

(out 30 June 2024), Mouth-Off presents the second instalment of our three-part Kylie series. In this episode, I sit down with songwriter, producer, and DJ DAMON SHARPE. Last year, I interviewed music critic (Albumism) and author of the "Record Redux" series, Quentin Harrison, to discuss all things related to the ultimate gay icon, Ms. Kylie Minogue. The "Record Redux" series is a ten-book set dedicated to “resetting the critical narratives of influential and often misrepresented women in pop music.” Previous editions have profiled the careers of the Spice Girls, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Carly Simon, and Donna Summer, with Janet Jackson still in the making.
To celebrate Pride Month and to coincide with the release of my book, "Kylie Minogue Album-by-Album: Stick or Twist?" (out June 30, 2024), I had another chat with Quentin. This time, we discussed Kylie’s recent renaissance, her enduring legacy, and her latest release, "Tension."

For the season FINALE of Mouth-Off we will be giving you a two-part special feature about everyone’s favourite gay icon KYLIE MINOGUE. As you may know, if you listened to the previous Mouth-Off episode (where I interviewed author QUENTIN HARRISON); I have recently finished a book all about Kylie. It is called STICK OR TWIST: KYLIE MINOGUE ALBUM BY ALBUM and is being published by Pen and Sword Publishers late next year (2024). I am also currently in the process of writing the follow up book, KYLIE MINOGUE: A SHOWGIRL ON TOUR. To coincide with these projects and to celebrate PRIDE MONTH, I chatted with my good friend, sometimes music collaborator and “fellow gay”, JAY HOFFMAN. Jay suggested we do a review of the concert openers from all of Kylie’s tours, so we did, and we recorded our chat. This is part one, we hope you enjoy. #PADAMPADAM.

A couple of years back, Mouth-Off did two episodes on the UK's MOST beloved pop queen - KYLIE MINOGUE. I interviewed two superfans (Mikey Phillips and Jay Hoffman). We dissected Kylie's first self-titled album KYLIE, as well as her most recent album DISCO. The episodes acted as bookends to Ms Minogue's career up to that point.
Since then, I have written a book called STICK OR TWIST: KYLIE MINOGUE ALBUM BY ALBUM which is due to be released late 2024. As part of my research I interviewed author, blogger and music critic, QUENTIN HARRISON. Quentin is the author of the RECORD REDUX series; a 10-book set dedicated to “resetting the critical narratives of influential and often misrepresented women in pop music.” Previous editions profiled the careers of the Spice Girls,  Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Carly Simon and Donna Summer. Next up  Harrison will spotlight Janet Jackson.
On today's episode we discuss all things Kylie Minogue.

Mouth-Off is a platform for marginalised communities to share their stories. On a typical episode we tend to cover topics that affect marginalised groups, such as gender equality, disability or substance misuse.
This month we are doing things a bit differently. We are adding a surprise instalment to our BONUS mini-series Be Pure, Be Vigilant, Behave, which is about Welsh rock band - Manic Street Preachers. In part 6, Mouth-Off's host Clary Saddler interviews producer and sound engineer, DAVE ERINGA. We discuss Dave's experiences producing the Manics, including when they collaborated on KYLIE MINOGUE'S 1997 "indie" album - IMPOSSIBLE PRINCESS. Dave shares his musical perspectives on their contributions to that album, as well as giving us some Manics related anecdotes.

On today’s episode of Mouth-Off I interviewed retired auditor, turned substitute teacher DAVID RICHARDS. David’s background may be in auditing but his passion is educating and inspiring others. David has cerebral palsy and draws on his experiences with disability to be a role model to others. Although David's arm and hand function is significally impaired in one arm this has not stopped him living a full life. He enjoys playing a range of sports and is also a keen artist.
